Mr. Johnson's Choir Class:
Super important announcement, you can't miss this... if your child likes to sing, or they're good at singing and are hiding their talent, Mr. Johnson is recruiting students for choir next school year. Our Webster choir has over 100 students in all grade levels 6-8; when in person, we perform four concerts per year including the Genesee Theater and select students travel to the elementary schools for a tour. So whether your child wants to be the next super star, or if they are shy and don't want to be heard, there is a place for everyone who likes to sing. If your child is interested in singing, please contact Mr. Johnson about joining choir next year, dnjohnson@wps60.org.
The choir students have been learning how to judge a singing competition like American Idol and The Voice, why people sing better than others, and we have just started an online music program called Breezin' Thru Theory which will teach us how to read music. For those students who will be participating in the hybrid in person learning, they will be provided with a special singer's mask, they should keep this mask in their backpacks, it should only be used in choir class. If you have any questions or concerns, please email Mr. Johnson at dnjohnson@wps60.org.
